This is my second favorite VP movie (first being Girl on the Bridge). I was in awe of Vanessa the entire time. She was amazing especially since it was her first role. I loved her portrayal of Mathilde, so pure yet ruined by the hardships in her life. I feel her love for her professor was more than just physical, She was looking for a paternal or family type of love. This movie really moved me.
What are your thoughts about it?

(Noce Blanche & Fille Sur Le Pont are unfortunately the only Vanessa films I have seen.)
I was taken back by Vanessa's performance in this film, I have only praise! The way Vanessa portrayed Mathilde who was very much a broken soul just made my heart break, she really became the essense of that character. She wanted someone to love, she needed someone to love her and she found this in Francois who was someone who while being somewhat of a father figure and someone she respected, he was also someone who believed in her and made her believe in herself. There is a manipulative side of the character (IMO) that balances with the innocent yet broken young girl and Vanessa portrays that wonderfully. The ending proved that she was much more than a schoolgirl crush. It's a film that touches my heart everytime I see it & Vanessa deserved the recognition she got for this role.
